The big picture

 

Every venue wants dynamic and eye-catching LED walls but only a few hotels have the budget for such a big purchase. That's OK; Encore is installing free LED walls in hotels. These will be paid for by advertising sales, sold by the venues with a commission for Encore sellers, revenue for Encore, and revenue for the Hotel.

A comprehensive team and support package is in place to ensure things go smoothly.

 

Why big LED displays?

Digital displays are one of the top audience engagement tools for meeting and event professionals. LED walls and panels take event messaging to a new level. These attention-grabbing surfaces across the hotel can reinforce your event-related messages in colorful, eye-catching ways and tell your story.

Encore LED Wall Capabilities

  • LED video walls are a revenue generator aiming to sell paid client content. This could be for an event, local attractions, or default venue content showcasing the facilities within the hotel.
  • Customers can supply content to our specifications, or Encore's creative team can be engaged to create content for them (paid service). Content can be made up of video or images.
  • Playback is from our video players, where content can be scheduled and managed from your desk. You can even connect a laptop directly to the LED video wall.
  • Content can be a schedule of full-screen video, zoned content, or a mix of both.

There is no time to Netflix and Chill; movie night is off the table, and these screens are for revenue, not relaxation.

90% of client needs are for a 16:9 video wall where the client provides a single video reel with appropriate content. More advanced solutions are available if your venue team is suitably trained and skilled.

The Team

The hotel will own the equipment (paying back the free installation from sales revenue) and pay for any licenses and maintenance. Encore usually has a service and maintenance agreement to look after things. The Encore Design & Installation team will install the video wall and train the Encore venue team on-site. The Encore venue team will sell time, upload content and schedule it. The Digital Signage Support team will monitor all the walls and players and support the venues with scheduling and hardware.

Sales Gotchas

Check out these tips and tricks to help things go smoothly, which will prevent service failures or mismanaged customer expectations at the sales stage. There may be exceptions to the rules, but be aware of these to make everyone's life easier.

  • No Movies / TV / Cable / Streaming
    • Encore doesn't supply licensing for this; the venue would need to arrange this.
    • Standard installations don't come with audio systems.
    • The LED screens are meant to generate revenue, so you may be cannibalizing screen time that can be sold.
  • Venue Specific customer guide
    • You will get a document with images of the LED Wall in your venue.
    • Your technical guidelines may be different from those of another venue.
  • Venue Default Content
    • The venue team will be given a default playlist after installation
    • The venue will manage content going forward.

    • Book creative help by checking the Creative box on the Event Learning page in Navigator.

Understanding the system

This is the short version; read the article Your Digital Branding LED Wall System for a more detailed explanation.

The Encore Design & Installation will install an LED wall, a controller (processor) that runs the LED wall, a player, and all the networking needed to connect everything up. A key term to know is that we use an Enterprise Edge Device between our network and the internet. You might know this as a firewall or router, but these devices are those and more, so please use the appropriate terminology.

The venue will upload content to the 22 Miles cloud platform over the Internet, and the players will access their content from the 22 Miles platform over the Internet. That all happens over regular internet.....you could do it from your house.

There is also a secure VPN (Virtual Private Network) VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) that allows the Digital Signage Support team to log into the player to manage and troubleshoot it.

My Toolbox

You will use venue-specific sales resources, technical specifications, and venue-specific content. You will also use a web browser to access the 22 Miles media management and scheduling platform.

Your toolbox includes the Chrome web browser, 22 Miles media management platform, and OneDrive for files. You can see the Sales Play and Product pages on the web on Connect. In Brandfolder, you can find the Sell Sheet and Vision Slide documents; your venue tech spec document is specific to your venue.

Your key media content is a default playlist with default content.

Self-serve PowerPoint templates (chargeable item) and an online gallery of the template are available  to inspire the customer.

You can contact Creative for content or services and the Support Center for help from a real person.
