Music playback in our events

It is the policy of Encore to only offer licensed music options to our clients.

Option 1 - Royalty-Free Music

Royalty-free music is licensed to be used anywhere, anyhow.  You can chop it up, use it for stingers, walk-in music, put it on social media and sharing platforms like YouTube. Whereas you don’t get hits from popular artists, this solution contains over 100,000 quality production tracks that will enhance any event or project.

Encore's current provider is Storyblocks which offers audio, videos, images, and a web-based video maker, it is a lot of fun, check it out www.storyblocks.com.

Option 2 - Commercial Background Music

Commercial Background Music is an app-based solution for the use of performance-licensed music for playback in public spaces such as hotel ballrooms, pre-function areas, and any public space in which meetings and events take place.

Commercial background music is licensed music that can be used in a very specific way, typically to a specific device for a period of time. This solution includes hits from popular artists with the tradeoff being some restrictions on usage. You can use the music as background music for a live event but you can't cue up a song, chop up the music for a stinger or broadcast the music even in a live stream.

Encore's current provider is Soundtrack Your Brand (a business division of Spotify) and Encore is provided a music management interface by Dynamic Media.

Option 3 - Client provides their own music

The client is allowed to supply their own music (licensed or otherwise), though the venue should try and educate them about the legalities first to see if they would prefer to purchase an appropriate, licensed product.

Larger, more corporate organizations understand the need for licensing and are pleased to use our solutions.

Smaller organizations that have historically just used someone's Spotify account or music CDs are less aware of the legalities and responsibilities around music licensing.

Here is a great diagram to help decide which solution is needed for an event.
