Introduction

Welcome to the world of Installed Digital Signage at your venue. This article will help you understand your systems and how to contact Digital Signage Support for content requests and help.

Once the Design & Integration team has handed over your installation, the Digital Signage Support team will work with you to help you change content, answer questions and resolve issues. The team will also monitor the systems remotely.

Contacting Digital Signage Support

Encore Team

For all digital signage-related content updates, questions and issues, please create a support ticket using this form. The form guides you in providing the information that we need to help you quickly and efficiently.

We usually answer tickets within a few minutes to help you or let you know we have routed it to the right person.

Hotel Partners

There are some hotels without an Encore onsite team who need to raise support tickets. Non-Encore hotel staff may contact Digital Signage Support directly. Hotel partners can create a support ticket by emailing signage-us@encoresupport.com.

If you are an Encore team member, please use the form. It will guide you in providing the information that we need to help you quickly and efficiently.

Generally, venues leave Digital Signage to the Encore team, but some venues like to be directly involved. Occasionally, the hotel's Food & Beverage department may request to change a menu or the events or marketing department may request content to feature a specific event.

Your system

Your system will usually be installed by Encore's Design & Integration team and configured by the Digital Signage Support team.

You will be given information about your specific system along with a PDF guide to send to customers to request content.

Your screens will normally be the same shape as your TV at home (16:9) but they may be landscape or portrait. Your arrays or LED wall may not be the same shape as your TV at home.

Customers sometimes don't follow the guidelines (size, shape, file type, quality) you send. Sometimes, the Digital Signage Support team can use or fix the content; sometimes, they can't and will guide you on re-requesting it.

Digital Signage types

There are five types of displays: door displays, readerboards, interactive touch readerboards, LCD arrays, and LED walls. The image, video and interactive content will be delivered by players (small Windows computers) connected to a cloud platform. The current preferred software platform is 22Miles.

Signage Types

Digital Door Sign

Door displays are small screens installed next to room entrances that display information about what is happening in that specific room. These are usually an all-in-one unit containing both the player and the screen.

Door displays are connected to the hotel's event management system via the signage software platform and automatically display the correct event information.

Reader Board

Readerboards usually display informational content such as today's events, hotel facilities or internal promotions. They are usually used in portrait orientation to accommodate the event listing.

Readerboard screens are also used as digital menus for dining outlets.

Interactive Touch

Interactive touch screens are readerboards with the extra touch functionality used for wayfinding, helping guests to navigate their way around a venue or directly to their event space.

Array

An array is a wall of individual screens, usually making up one big screen. The edges of the screens are thin but you can still see a grid.

LED Wall

An LED wall comprises small tiles but displays a seamless picture. LED walls are generally designed to create larger display surfaces and are very bright.
