Creating a Station from Spotify with the App

Created by Faye for Freshworks, Modified on Fri, 30 Jan at 11:22 AM by Faye for Freshworks

Any Spotify playlist with a minimum of 5 songs can be used to create a station, and Soundtrack Your Brand’s AI algorithm will complement it with 100 similar songs. The Soundtrack Your Brand algorithm designs a custom-made station for you based on similar sounding songs and artists when importing a Spotify playlist feature to create a station. A station allows you to skip songs and adds songs that adapt to your music taste.

IMPORTANT: Soundtrack’s AI algorithm will do its best to import songs from the Spotify playlist into a Soundtrack Your Brand station. The AI algorithm may not import all the songs in the Spotify playlist and may not be in the exact order the songs on the Spotify playlist is in. The songs imported from a Spotify playlist into a Soundtrack station may be shuffled. Unavailable songs may be substituted with similar sounded songs or similar sounded artists.

How to create a station from a Spotify playlist via the app

To import a Spotify playlist, ensure it is a public playlist on Spotify, and then follow the steps below. This can be done in the SYB player app on a paired device. The steps below include screenshots from the SYB app.

  1. Go to the create tab in your SYB app on your Encore Music device.

  1.  Click Spotify import.

  1. Connect the Spotify account to Soundtrack Your Brand by logging in to the Spotify account when prompted in the SYB app. (If you'd rather not connect your personal Spotify account to an Encore device or you've received a Spotify playlist from a customer, see the article on importing via the web without connecting a Spotify account instead.)
  2. Select your public Spotify playlist that you would like to import.

  1. Click import. Then your imported playlist will be added as a station in your venue SYB account.

  1. You will be able to see the station you just created in the your music section of the SYB app.

If an imported song is grayed out, it can't be played in your country due to licensing restrictions. This may change over time. A grayed-out headphone symbol means you can't preview it, but streaming may still be possible.
